happy new year

For documenting purposes, we did, in fact, celebrate the new year.
Not in a fit-less, everyone is happy, let's stay up all night kind of way.
But we celebrated none-the-less.
It's been so long ago, I can't even remember all of the details.
But the highlights were:

Fireworks

We made our own ball to drop (had we made it to the New York New Year (9pm)).
Which someone yanked down well before the countdown.

And on another note, I had a hysterical moment. Since Jared doesn't do any gift shopping for his family, I have to do it. His mom's birthday was in the first part of January. I found this frame that I intended to fill with Colton & Ruthie's photos ... but my humor got the best of me, and I filled it this way:
Then I told Jared that this was what his mother was getting for her birthday this year. Had I kept a straight face it might have been more entertaining to see his reaction. But as you can guess, I couldn't help laughing. hard. Jared didn't think it was as funny as I did.
His mom did get pictures of our kids.
(And as long as she never removes them, she'll never know she also has five fine photos of yours truly!!!!)
just kidding
