Hard to believe this handsome boy is SIX years old!!!
On his "true" birthday (as the kids say), he opened a present from Jared, Ruthie, and I ... it was a very cool Frog-Planet, like an ant farm, only for watching eggs->tadpoles->frogs.
So first we acquired some tadpoles (we missed egg season).
Here they are in their new home.
Ruthie and Colton have birthdays that are 7 days apart. This year, we celebrated small--party style on the True Birthday. On the Saturday in between their birthdays, we partied all day! After lunch, everyone arrived, we had cake, games, and presents for Colton. Then we hosted dinner and proceeded with Ruthie's cake, games, and presents! (this picture is of Colton's party, even though he is so generously letting Ruthie help him tear wrapping paper)
I'm always sad when our celebrations (of ANY kind) are over and we didn't get a group photo ... I'm also sad this time that we didn't get any great pictures of the other fun stuff we did. We had some matchbox cars out for the kids to take home, and we painted numbers on the tops and sides, and then glued on the cutest little colored googly eyes, and then raced them!!
The new Cars movie star is FinnMcMissile. We had a Finn party. Here are the invitations that Colton colored ... every single Finn is the exact 2D replica of the real car, FinnMcMissle.
