Ruthie and Nate stoked about their first luau!
We are learning the "hula"
Here is the setup behind us: the little hut houses the 5 piece
band and there is a small stage in front of them where
different dances of the Polynesian islands are performed.
There are tables set up for eating and shortly after we get
our food the show begins. It is an awesome experience and
even the kids' full attention is captured by the hula girls, as
Colton would say
They always stop the show about halfway through
to recognize honeymooners ... even though we hit the
5 year mark a few weeks ago, we got to get in on the
Hawaiian Wedding Song ...
Nate's favorite part must have been the hula shake
Hapuna Beach: Jared and Ruthie and Uncle Nate threw the
frisbee around for awhile, Colton napped on the beach towel
in the sand, Nathan lost his sunglasses in a big crashing wave,
and we found them again ... all in just a couple of tropical hours.
Colton has learned the doggie paddle, he is so excited now
about the big wide world of swimming, now that he knows
how to "swim"!!!
So we took him out into the ocean to refine his skills!! Just
kidding, but we really did get him in the ocean here... this
boogie board (also known as booger board) has an "aqua-eye"
mask for viewing underwater fascinations
